Domiciliary Care

This type of service provides personal care for people living in their own homes. The needs of people using the services may vary greatly, but packages of care are designed to meet individual circumstances.

The person is visited at various times of the day or, in some cases, care is provided over a full 24-hour period. Where care is provided intermittently throughout the day, the person may live independently of any continuous support or care between the visits.

We assist with a simple ‘good morning’ start to the day, helping you to get up, wash, shower or bathe, get dressed and have breakfast along with the following:

  • Remind or assist you to take your medicines and collect or return medication from your pharmacy or dispensing GP surgery.
  • Prepare meals with or for you and assist you at mealtimes.
  • Collect your pension for you or with you.
  • Shop with you or help you to make a shopping list, go to the shops, come back and put it all away.
  • Help with your laundry or ironing and keeping your home clean and tidy.
  • Support you with social activities such as going out for a walk, attending a day centre, visiting
  • friends or family, going to your church or club etc.
  • We also give a little pampering when you need it.
  • At the end of each day, some help with getting ready for bed.

    Residential Care

    Adults may be placed in Adult Residential Facilities because of a disability, often a mental disability which makes them unable to care for their daily needs. Various forms of long-term residential care are available for elderly people and young people over 18 years of age. They may choose to fix their own meals or have meals provided, or some combination of both. Many residential facilities are designed to care for residents who do not need 24-hour nursing care but are unable to live independently. These are typically in providing a furnished or unfurnished room depending residents’ choice in a shared house, together with all meals and housekeeping and laundry service. Depending on the needs of the resident, we also provide assistance with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and walking. These are not considered to be medical facilities, but they do have to meet state standards for care and safety

    Community Services

    This service type provides a range of health care staff (e.g. nurses or allied health professionals) other than doctors to people who need health care support in their own home, in community settings or in development / rehabilitation units. The care provided may be short- or long-term and meet acute or chronic health care needs. The services may help people to live independently in the community and are directly responsible for the quality of the care and support provided by the staff they supply, and do not include employment agencies.     Hospital Step Down Beds

    We provide core GP services and community NHS services, for example district nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, mental health counselling, homecare and ‘step-down beds’ (for patients discharged from hospital but not quite ready to care for themselves at home). These are patients also waiting for their social care packages or health care packages to be ready for extra nursing to facilitate a safer return home.
